Cleaning
You're running a top-notch personal boat, or perhaps even a sport fishing biz and you have some pretty stiff competition to get people on your boat. Having spectacular reels is a must!
Sometimes, a reel just needs a good cleaning. From dried-on salt -to- customer's hair, reels just want a little oil and buffing. The outside of your gear must be as professional as the inside, don't ya think? |
All reels are taken completely apart. Each piece is restored to its original state, lubricated with high-end grease and oil and rebuilt with any replacement parts needed.
Once done, we test them for drag, clicker, level wind working, spool spinning on free-spool, handles aren't wobbly, and that you'll get your reel back in solid shape and ready for work.

During Season (March thru Mid-October):
Depending on how many reels you have, we strive for a 1 hour per reel turnaround.

Off Season (Mid-October thru March): We can accept all your reels and work on them thru the winter. We have a secure gear shop in Grayland to hold reels as we work on them for you. We work on one 5-gal bucket of reels at a time. Each bucket can hold 10 (114s), or 15 (Squall/Salmon Reels). Once we get a bucket done, we'll contact you for pick-up/delivery. Or they can remain in our facility with your buckets clearly marked. |
We mark the back of every reel we work on with the date and what was done. This lets us keep track of what is going on with your reel.
This benefits the reels that get daily use, such as charter boats. If a reel has been in service for 15 yrs, it may need to be parted out. The dates and work done codes help track that progress. Other times, it was just a bad star drag one visit and a missing screw the next. Keeping track of each reel's repair needs is vital for the overall flow of your fishing experience. |
